Saga Prefecture has several interesting small towns and cities. I taught at high schools in both Ogi and Kanzaki. Kanzaki has a historical village called Yoshinogari, showing the lives of the Yayoi, one of Japan's ancient cultures. Arita is a famous ceramics village, originally founded by Korean potters. They mine porcelin there, and their pottery sells around the world. Saga's mountains are incredibly beautiful, full of pine and bamboo forests, clear rivers, and breathtaking waterfalls.
