I've become a grandfather ... as of 14 April 2009, my son Chad and his wife Candice became the parents of a baby girl, Teresa Marie Doswell. In Candice's words:
We named her in memory of my mom, Teri, and after Chad's grandma, Marie. (We like the formal name, Teresa, but will also use Teri.)
Just a few days now into parenthood and I've got to say--I love it!! We are so in love with our little girl!
They sent along some photos, which I have to share, naturally. She's a petite young lady right now (born at 5 lbs 8 oz, 18.5 inches long). Lots of hair, clearly, and already a charmer. I know my mother would have been very proud and very pleased. For those of you who don't know, Chad is in the Army, stationed in Heidelberg, Germany. Hopefully, we can visit with his new family in the fall of this year, and meet our new granddaughter.
